SkipGrind isn’t just an improvement in concrete floor preparation, it’s a breakthrough advancement in epoxy floor installation technology. By eliminating the need for mechanical concrete grinding, it removes the most time-consuming, labor-intensive, and expensive step in preparing a concrete surface for epoxy coatings. No heavy grinders, no clouds of concrete dust, and no extensive cleanup.
What once required specialized equipment, contractor crews, and days of surface preparation can now be completed quickly and efficiently by a do-it-yourself homeowner or installer. SkipGrind allows you to move from floor prep to epoxy coating faster, delivering professional-grade adhesion, long-term durability, and a clean installation process without sacrificing performance.
SkipGrind No-Grind Concrete Primer is a three-component, high-performance epoxy primer engineered for demanding concrete garage floor coating systems. This advanced no-grind bonding primer adheres to virtually any properly prepared surface. SkipGrind dramatically reduces floor prep time, seals slab laitance, and minimizes dust, debris, and demolition hazards while balancing surface pH to help prevent finish coat cracking, peeling, or delamination. The formula is perfect for DIY homeowners and weekend warrior installers. The formula is non-toxic and environmentally responsible, making it safe for both professionals and DIY installers.
1. SkipGrind Primer kits are premeasured consisting of one jug of A-resin, one jug of B-hardener, and one bag of C-thickening blend. Pour the full contents of Parts A and B into a 5-gallon bucket and mix for 30 seconds. While mixing, slowly add Part C powder while under agitation. It is important to “wet-out” all parts of dry mix, scraping the bottom and sides of bucket. Incomplete mixing will cause an inconsistent finish.
2. Prepare only the amount you can use in 10 minutes to reduce work time. Do not leave the mixed material in the bucket longer than 10 minutes.
Apply when surface and ambient temperatures range between 50 F (10 C) and 90 F (32 C) and will remain that way for 24 hours.
1. Best results are achieved when applied to dampened concrete. Lightly mist the entire concrete floor with a garden hose or sprinkler can. Concrete should be damp, not wet!
2. While wearing spiked shoes, immediately after mixing, pour the entire batch evenly onto the concrete surface in 4”-6” wide ribbons running perpendicular across the floor. You have +/- 10 minutes before the primer will start to set in the bucket, the quicker you pour the epoxy on the floor, the longer working time you have.
3. Use a gauge rake, with cams preset at 1/8” or for desired thickness, or a notched squeegee, spread the material at approximately 100 sq. ft. per gallon. Work the primer into the concrete with a medium-bristle broom using circular motions to ensure proper penetration.
4. Back roll to a smooth texture. Using a 3/8” nap, non-shedding, phenolic (plastic) core roller, roll coating forwards and backwards smoothing out roller lines over the work area. Then back roll again in the opposite direction for uniform coverage.
5. If applicable, first with a paintbrush or small handheld roller, apply primer to the cove joint concrete outer side walls of the room. Not all garage floors will have this or have it showing. This is also a good time to cut-in the edges of the floor against the walls with a paintbrush or small roller.
No sanding is required.
100 sq. ft. per gallon.
NOTE: Proper PPE (personal protective equipment), including gloves, eye protection, and appropriate respiratory protection, must be worn at all times during the mixing and application of epoxy products.Mixing bucket and mixer/blades should be scraped out thoroughly and cleaned with solvents such as acetone or xylene. Once product begins hardening isopropyl alcohol, acetone, or a strong solvent like methylene chloride may be required. Once dry, product can only be removed mechanically.

There is no warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, nor any other expressed or implied warranties.
Under no circumstances shall we be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind, including but not limited to improper workmanship or failure to follow product application instructions. Strict compliance with all published application instructions is required. Any deviation from, modification of, or failure to follow instructions in their entirety, including omission of any step, shall immediately void this warranty in full.
We cannot warranty failure of a coating caused by moisture vapor transmission, hydrostatic pressure, out-gassing, extreme abuse, fire, explosion, improper mixing, use of expired materials, or the addition of any unauthorized chemicals. The use of any third-party or unapproved products, additives, or systems will void this warranty.
This warranty is also null and void if materials or systems are installed over a substandard or improperly prepared substrate, in violation of local building codes, or where failure is caused by substructure issues, building movement or settling, acts of God, or other environmental conditions beyond our control.
All claims must be submitted in writing by the installer and received within one (1) year from the date of purchase.
OSHA and the American Disabilities Act (ADA) have now set enforceable standards for slip resistance on pedestrian surfaces. The current coefficient of friction required by ADA is .6 on level surfaces and .8 on ramps. It is recommended that the use of angular slip-resistant aggregate in all coatings or flooring systems that may be exposed to wet, oily or greasy conditions. It is the contractor and end users’ responsibility to provide a flooring system that meets current safety standards. WideNond® or its sales agents will not be responsible for injury incurred in a slip and fall accident.
Use only with adequate ventilation. Appropriate cartridge-type respirator must be used during application in confined areas. Avoid contact with skin. Some individuals may be allergic to epoxy resin. Protective gloves and clothing are recommended.
