For proper adhesion and performance, new concrete must be cured a minimum of 28 days prior to repair. Concrete hairline cracks should be routed using a minimum 1/8" straight diamond blade and cut approximately 1/2" deep to open the crack for proper filling. Remove all loose concrete, dust, debris, and foreign material before application by thoroughly brushing and vacuuming the repair area and surrounding surface. For larger cracks or extensive concrete damage, consult a WiseBond Floors representative before proceeding with repairs.

KreteBond delivers a professional-grade concrete repair solution that restores surface integrity before installing your epoxy multicolor chip floor coating system. Its high-strength epoxy formulation, rapid cure time, and excellent bonding characteristics make it an essential step for achieving long-term durability, proper coating adhesion, and a smooth, uniform substrate. When used as part of the WiseBond Floors system, KreteBond helps create the solid, properly prepared surface required for high-performance epoxy and polyaspartic floor coatings, ensuring your finished floor performs exactly as designed.

HOW TO MIX: KreteBond Concrete Crack Filler

1:1 Mix Ratio:

The ratio of KreteBond is 1 Part-A to 1 Part-B. Using separate scooping devices, measure equal amounts from container A and container B and place material on a mixing board. Once on mixing board, mix both components with a 6” putty knife until a uni¬form color has been reached. Mix for 1-2 mins. Do not mix more material than can be applied in 10 minutes.

HOW TO APPLY? KreteBond Concrete Crack Filler

Apply when surface and ambient temperatures range between 55 F and 95 F and will remain that way for 24 hours.

APPLICATION:

Apply KreteBond into the crack with a 6” putty knife, making sure to completely fill. Push material as far into the crack as possible. Feather the KreteBond at each side of the crack to reduce telegraphing through the finish product. KreteBond may require a second coat or diamond grinding at the edges after it has cured. If grinding is required, it is necessary to grind the feathered edge of the KreteBond down to bare concrete. If the grinding and feathering process is not done properly, highlights may telegraph through the new coating system.

NOTE: Proper PPE (personal protective equipment), including gloves, eye protection, and appropriate respiratory protection, must be worn at all times during the mixing and application of epoxy products.

CLEAN UP:

Unmixed product may be cleaned up with water and degreaser. Once product begins hardening isopropyl alcohol, acetone or a strong solvent like methylene chloride may be required. Once dry, product can only be removed mechanically.

WARNING! SLIP AND FALL PRECAUTIONS

OSHA and the American Disabilities Act (ADA) have now set enforceable standards for slip resistance on pedestrian surfaces. The current coefficient of friction required by ADA is .6 on level surfaces and .8 on ramps. It is recommended that the use of angular slip-resistant aggregate in all coatings or flooring systems that may be exposed to wet, oily or greasy conditions. It is the contractor and end users’ responsibility to provide a flooring system that meets current safety standards. WideBond® or its sales agents will not be responsible for injury incurred in a slip and fall accident.

Handling & PPE Precautions

Use only with adequate ventilation. Appropriate cartridge-type respirator must be used during application in confined areas. Avoid contact with skin. Some individuals may be allergic to epoxy resin. Protective gloves and clothing are recommended.
