KretePrep is the essential first step in preparing bare or unsealed concrete before applying epoxy or other coatings. This highly concentrated cleaning formula penetrates deep into the concrete surface, actively cleaning, activating, and opening the pores of the concrete to promote maximum coating adhesion and bonding strength. Within minutes of application, you can visually see the product working as it prepares the surface for optimal coating performance.
Designed for concrete garage floors, workshops, basements, and interior concrete surfaces, KretePrep creates the ideal surface profile for epoxy coatings, and decorative concrete chip systems. After application, simply rinse thoroughly with water, allow the concrete to fully dry, and proceed with your coating installation for a strong, durable, and long-lasting bond.
KretePrep Concrete Cleaner, Degreaser & Etcher is a professional-grade concrete surface preparation solution designed to properly prepare concrete for epoxy floor coatings, garage floor flake coatings, and other concrete coating systems. This powerful formula cleans, degreases, and etches concrete in one step, removing oils, grease, organic buildup, and stubborn surface contaminants that can interfere with coating adhesion. By thoroughly conditioning the substrate, KretePrep helps ensure your epoxy coating bonds securely, delivering long-lasting performance and a reliable foundation for your floor coating system. Always wear proper safety gear during use, including chemical-resistant gloves and splash-proof eye protection.
1. Mix 1/3 gallon (43 oz.) of concentrate with 1 gallon of water in a plastic sprinkling can.
2. One gallon of concentrate will produce 4 gallons of premix.
3. Hot water will accelerate cleaning and etching.
Apply when surface and ambient temperatures range between 35 F and 95 F and will remain that way for 24 hours.
Wear suitable protective clothing, including chemical resistant gloves and eyewear when mixing and applying the product.
Sweep and vacuum the concrete surface to remove all loose debris. Thoroughly scrape and wipe away any grease or oil contamination. For heavier buildup, a power washer can be used to assist with deeper pre-cleaning.
Working in sections approximately 10' × 10' at a time, lightly dampen the concrete surface with a fine spray of water. Using a sprinkling can, apply the premixed solution evenly across the concrete. Scrub the solution into the surface with a stiff-bristled broom, working it thoroughly until the foaming action stops. Rinse the area completely with a garden hose or power washer until all visible signs of cleaner have been removed.
800-1200 sq. ft. per gallon.
NOTE: Proper PPE (personal protective equipment), including gloves, eye protection, and appropriate respiratory protection, must be worn at all times during the mixing and application of epoxy products.Rinse all tools, material and personal protection with water before storing.

OSHA and the American Disabilities Act (ADA) have now set enforceable standards for slip resistance on pedestrian surfaces. The current coefficient of friction required by ADA is .6 on level surfaces and .8 on ramps. It is recommended that the use of angular slip-resistant aggregate in all coatings or flooring systems that may be exposed to wet, oily or greasy conditions. It is the contractor and end users’ responsibility to provide a flooring system that meets current safety standards. WideBond® or its sales agents will not be responsible for injury incurred in a slip and fall accident.
Use only with adequate ventilation. Appropriate cartridge-type respirator must be used during application in confined areas. Avoid contact with skin. Some individuals may be allergic to epoxy resin. Protective gloves and clothing are recommended.
